On the third day after his death, Jesus rose from the dead.
This is at the very heart of the Christian faith.
The first Christians did not claim that Jesus somehow continued to live symbolically in their memory or as an idea. They had experienced him and believed that he had truly and bodily risen from the dead.
The Bible reports that many people encountered him.
Jesus could be seen and touched. He spoke with his disciples and ate with them.
That is why the central message of Christians is: Jesus is risen!
To this day, hundreds of millions of people around the world believe that Jesus is alive.
Many testify that through faith in him they have found forgiveness, hope, comfort and a new life.
