C stands for Cross.
Jesus died on the cross.
From a Christian perspective, his death was not simply the tragic end of an extraordinary life. Jesus gave his life willingly for us.
Our relationship with God has been broken by our sin. No one can simply undo their own guilt. On the cross, Jesus took the consequences of our sin upon himself and opened the way back to God.
The cross therefore shows us both how serious our separation from God is – and how great God's love for us is.
But the cross was not the end.
Jesus died. But Jesus is risen.
